It was developed in conjunction with the ICG Group and Intec College. The Home Inspection Training Academy is endorsed by SASHI (The South African Society of Home Inspectors).
The course covers techniques and scope of inspection, various types of home inspections, equipment required to perform the inspections, legislation in South Africa and the Code of Ethics, the inspection process and producing an inspection report. The easy to use software provides you with the templates to produce a professional Home Inspection Report.

Your Path to Becoming
a Certified Home Inspector
THITA provides a full inclusive Distance Learning Course in Home Inspection, which means that Learners (Course applicants) can apply for the course Online, buy it Online and receive it Online.
Students complete the whole Course at their own time and pace. The Final Exam is also completed as an open book Exam. When the Student is ready for the final Practical Inspection portion of the Course, 3 Home Inspections are carried out on the homes of family and friends and sent to THITA.
Thereafter, the Certificate is issued.
The THITA Distance Learning Course course costs R20 000. We also have a Classroom Style Course which is provided over 5 days and costs R25 000. Arrangements may be made to pay any one of these courses off.

What does the Course cover?
The course covers techniques and scope of inspection, various types of home inspections, equipment required to perform the inspections, legislation in South Africa and the Code of Ethics, the inspection process and producing an inspection report. The easy to use software provides you with the templates to produce a professional Home Inspection Report.
How long does the course take?
We recommend you allow approximately 13 weeks for the completion of the course, but we have had applicants complete it in as little as 2 weeks – it all depends on the time and resources you have available. The final examination is open book which you complete at home and send back to us for grading. Once the exam has been graded, you will complete 3 home inspections in your own time at the homes of family and friends and submit them to THITA for markinig. The inspections will be graded and upon completion you will complete the course.
How do I apply for the course?
You can apply in two ways:
Online Application: Simply purchase your chosen course directly from the THITA online shop.
Assisted Application: If you prefer assistance, complete the Assisted Application form.
Once we receive confirmation of your payment—or your first payment if you choose a payment plan—we’ll provide access to your course.
How do I get the course material?
Once you purchase the course and your payment is confirmed, you will receive a username and password to log in to our MoodleCloud platform. Moodle is a user-friendly online learning system (also available as a mobile app) that allows you to access all your course materials, track your progress, communicate with instructors, and manage your learning at your own pace — anytime, anywhere.
Moodle makes it easy to organize your studies and stay on top of assignments with simple navigation and helpful tools designed to enhance your learning experience.
If you prefer a more traditional approach or are unfamiliar with Moodle, no problem — we can also provide the complete course material as a downloadable package via Dropbox or another method you choose.
